How did you get into this career? Have you always loved weddings?
I studied Events Management at University as I always wanted a career in events. I have worked in different areas of events and it was only after organising my own wedding that I decided I wanted to get into weddiangs.
How do you remain up-to-date with the event industry?
There are a range of event industry publications and websites which I read to keep up to date with what is happening in the events industry.
Are there any obvious trends in weddings at the moment?
We are receiving a number of enquiries for larger weddings with greater numbers of guests which will be perfect when our new Orangery is open in July 2017.
What elements must be considered before you start planning a wedding?
It is important to consider a number of elements before planning a wedding such as the time of year, guest numbers, the wedding theme and timings for the day.
What do you like most about your job? How do you stay motivated when things don’t go as planned?
I really enjoy getting to know the Bride and Groom and building a relationship with them. It is great to be a part of the organisation and planning in the lead up to the wedding and to see the Bride and Groom enjoying their special day. As weddings are said to be the best day of your life, it is very important that everything runs smoothly and we exceed our client’s expectations. This is what keeps me motivated as I want to ensure the Bride and Groom have the perfect day.
How would you manage stress as the date of the wedding draws near?
We try to limit any stress prior to weddings by having regular appointments with our clients to ensure we have all the information that we need. As things do change last minute, we deal with this efficiently to minimise any worries prior to the wedding.
